Retrospective pilot findings

Early signs deserve a closer look.

22analyzed cases from a cohort of 113 children

Earlier onset was more often associated with regulatory and attention-related features. Later onset was more often associated with motor-postural or mixed presentations.

Regressive trajectories were preceded by earlier signs of disturbance. Histories suggested clinical recognition occurred after early signs; the delay was not quantified.

Working model · Hypotheses for further study

Two proposed developmental trajectories.

Alongside the pilot findings, we will discuss a working model of early dysregulation and later decompensation, with a proposed 2–4-year window for heightened clinical awareness.

The model is intended to guide questions for future research. Its proposed intervention pathways were not tested in this retrospective pilot.

We welcome your clinical observations, questions, and critical perspectives. Come by poster B-18 and discuss the model with us.
